Literature Text

It is light and brilliant
Spread all over the ground
I recall when real sleighs existed
Horses traveling all through the night

It falls from the heavens above
Then it slowly lands on some branches
With boots and mittens I love your feel
Without them your touch is almost poisonous

Why must you melt when the sun rises
Fly to my tongue or hand and melt there
You are so mysterious and unique
Coming and going in all sizes and forms

When I was a child, frosty was real
He had a real carrot and real charcoal
Back then, sledding was a game for all ages
No snowboards or 'X-games' to get in our way

I miss warm chestnuts over a fire
And the sight of true mistletoe's
At least I have you dear friend
All around me for the whole season
